The Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA) today announced the hiring of Larisa Pavlick as its new Senior Director of Quality Assurance and Technical Affairs and Kirby Miller as its new Director of Federal Government Affairs.

With more than two decades of experience implementing and writing science-based policies, practices, and procedures in the dietary supplements industry, Pavlick will serve as the association’s leader on quality, technical, and manufacturing issues across all product categories CHPA represents. Pavlick joins CHPA from the United Natural Product Alliance (UNPA) where she served as Vice President of Global Regulatory and Compliance. She will report to Barbara Kochanowski, Senior Vice President of Regulatory and Scientific Affairs.

During Pavlick’s time at UNPA, she worked closely with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as an advocate and liaison for industry stakeholders. Prior to UNPA, Pavlick spent eight years working as an FDA Consumer Safety Officer in Denver, where she conducted Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) inspections, investigations, and sample collections for food and dietary supplement firms within the Denver District and internationally. Pavlick holds a BS in Biology from the University of Colorado and is a subject matter expert in Dietary Supplements and food GMP. Throughout her career, she has earned several FDA honors, awards, and certificates and contributed to more than 30 articles published in industry media regarding FDA, quality, and regulatory concerns.

“Larisa’s extensive industry, trade association, and FDA experience in quality and GMP compliance will enable her to effectively lead CHPA programs across OTC medicines, dietary supplements, and consumer medical devices,” said Kochanowski. “We are thrilled to have her join our regulatory and scientific affairs team.”

“I am so excited to join the CHPA team,” said Pavlick. “My life’s mission has always been to help others, and I see this as an amazing opportunity to share and to continue to learn. I look forward to providing support to the CHPA membership.”

Kirby Miller comes to CHPA from Capitol Hill, where she most recently worked as a Healthcare Legislative Assistant for U.S. Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi. She will serve as CHPA’s new Director of Federal Government Affairs and report to Marc Schloss, Vice President of Federal Government Affairs.

Having worked in both Chambers of Congress, Miller brings nearly eight years of federal government experience to CHPA, previously serving as Deputy Chief of Staff for Rep. Trent Kelly of Mississippi and in numerous legislative roles for former Rep. Rod Blum of Iowa. Miller has also served as a Nutritionist for the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and holds a bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and Nutrition from the University of Mississippi.

“Kirby’s background and expertise will be instrumental to CHPA’s continued advocacy on Capitol Hill,” said Schloss, “and we’re delighted that she will add to our efforts on behalf of CHPA members.”

"I am excited for the opportunity to join CHPA,” said Miller. “I look forward to working to advance federal policies supported by CHPA's member companies and protecting consumers' access to safe and effective products."
