Congratulations to our Employee of the Quarter Kelsey Saylors!

Kelsey serves as CHPA’s Senior Digital Content & Campaign Manager for CHPA’s Educational Foundation. In this role she spearheads the foundation’s consumer-facing digital brand KnowYourOTCs, including the website KnowYourOTCs.org and its social media presence across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Kelsey also serves as the communications and education lead on the Pediatric Cough and Cold Steering Team and the Internal Analgesics Task Group, leading educational campaign efforts to promote the safe and responsible use of our industry’s products. Additionally, she manages the Stop Medicine Abuse campaign out of the Dextromethorphan Task Group.

Kelsey has been a valued employee at CHPA for three years and embodies many of CHPA’s Blue Culture areas. In the third quarter of this year, Kelsey continued to lead the OTC Pain Reliever Safety Campaign and the promotion of its digital assessment tool. The campaign surpassed its 2021 goal for assessment completions four months ahead of schedule (72,549 Assessment completions), and its video completion goal six months ahead of schedule (666,473 video completions). A three-month pilot paid media campaign promoting the Spanish-Language Assessment was successful and earned more than 10,000 completions. She worked harmoniously with many different staff members, agencies, and member companies to keep projects moving smoothly and against set objectives. Kelsey also shined in her digital expertise for KYOTCs content creation and promotion. In Q3, the brand’s paid media campaigns plus organic promotion of timely and educational content contributed to a 20% quarter-over-quarter increase in site visits to KYOTCs.org (411,809 sessions), as well as a 52% increase in impressions. Specifically, Facebook content earned a 15% increase in impressions, Instagram earned a 113% increase in post saves of KYOTCs content, and Twitter experienced a 86% increase in net follower growth. Finally, in Q3 Kelsey also began a special project in line with the CDC's PROTECT Initiative’s objective related to standardized dosing to prevent medication errors. She successfully organized a photo shoot to provide accurate stock photo options to both stock photo sites and major websites currently using images that incorrectly/inaccurately depict liquid medication dosing practices.

Kelsey is an active member on CHPA's IDEA Committee and seeks opportunities to support DEI Initiatives both personally and professionally. She graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. She lives in Virginia and when she is not hard at work for CHPA, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, Aubrey.
