As marijuana legalization and decriminalization has swept across the states in the last decade, researchers, activists, law enforcement, and public health officials have advocated to loosen strict marijuana research policy to better understand the impact of the substance on public health and safety. The most recent draft of the Senate infrastructure bill includes language to enhance marijuana research as it relates to driving and road safety.
