John Punzi Ph.D.
John Punzi is responsible for quality assurance and technical affairs activities for the association. He is the coordinator for CHPA's Product Quality & Operations Workshop and the CHPA liaison to the Manufacturing Controls Committee and its subcommittees: the Compendia Subcommittee, the Stability Subcommittee, the Impurities Break-out Group, the Environmental Subcommittee, and the Nanotechnology Subcommittee. In addition, Punzi acts as CHPA's industry liaison to the U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP) and oversees the industry's involvement in USP monograph modernization. Punzi represents CHPA member companies as their delegate to the 2015 USP Convention.
Prior to joining CHPA in 2011, Punzi worked for more than nine years as a senior chemist at the Science and Technology Division of United States Department of Agriculture and five years at the Health Effects Division at the Environmental Protection Agency. He is experienced in quality assurance in laboratory testing for food surveillance testing and technical issues concerning pesticide regulatory affairs. Punzi was on the faculty at the University of Rochester before beginning public service.
