Mary Leonard is responsible for overseeing the strategic management of the association’s educational foundation, including its consumer education programming, alliance/partnership development, donor engagement and fundraising, strategic planning, board management, and serving as the Foundation spokesperson. She is the lead on the foundation’s flagship campaigns Know Your Dose and Up and Away, and she also plans and executes the foundation’s annual Gala.
Prior to transitioning to the foundation role in June 2017, Leonard led the development and implementation of CHPA's association integrated marketing communications programs and initiatives for five years. In this role, she provided strategic direction to the association's overall brand strategy through print, digital, and new media platforms elevating awareness about CHPA’s programs and strengthening relationships with members and stakeholders. Prior to joining CHPA, Leonard led the marketing programs for Associated Builders and Contractors and the Healthcare Distribution Alliance, both trade associations in the DC/Metro area.
Leonard lives in Arlington, Va., with her husband, Joe, and her sons, Owen and Henry. She serves on the National Poison Prevention Week Council and is a member of CHPA’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion Steering Team.
