Jon Lobeck directs the human resources core functions and office operations including, but not limited to, talent acquisition, new employee onboarding, payroll and total rewards, performance evaluation management, professional development and training, and employee relations and engagement. In addition, Jon serves as a champion in promoting workplace environment that aligns with CHPA’s “Blue Culture” initiative: excellence, integrity, development, empowerment, and teamwork.
Prior to joining the CHPA team, Jon created and led two HR departments for organizations located in the District of Columbia and the Midwest. His primary function was to create and sustain an HR framework that represented over 380 employees and multimillion-dollar operating budgets. Throughout his career, Jon acquired an expertise in action-oriented talent acquisition strategies, policy writing and employment law, high-performing work cultures, executive coaching, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. Furthermore, Jon led human capital programs during a merger & acquisition and provided HR guidance in high-stakes situations including change management, compensation analysis, and risk mitigation.
Outside the workplace, Jon continues to share his passion for mentorship and building economic opportunities through his volunteer experience at several employment nonprofits. Jon is dedicated to empowering individuals by sharing successful job resources and skills in a competitive job market. Currently, Jon is pursuing an MBA in organizational development. Jon is a member of DC SHRM and serves as a chair member of the HR Alliance Compensation Survey Committee.
