Washington, D.C. (June 18, 2014)—The Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA) yesterday elected Patrick Lockwood-Taylor as chair-elect. Lockwood-Taylor serves as The Procter & Gamble Company’s (P&G’s) vice president, North America Personal Health Care, and Global Digestive Wellness design. Lockwood-Taylor will succeed current chair James Mackey, senior vice president U.S. Region Head for Merck Consumer Care, upon completion of his term in March 2015.

"This is an exciting and dynamic time for consumer healthcare in the U.S., and our industry is delighted to have Patrick take on this role as future leader of our board,” said Scott Melville, president and CEO of CHPA. “Patrick is passionate about the role that over-the-counter medicines and supplements play in our nation’s healthcare system, and he’s ideally suited to serve as chair at this time of opportunity and growth for our industry.”

Lockwood-Taylor added, “At a time of unprecedented change in the healthcare arena, there are now more opportunities than ever to unlock this industry’s growth potential and its contribution to the delivery of cost-effective healthcare. This can meaningfully improve the lives of American consumers."
