Mary Leonard is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the association’s educational foundation, including consumer education program management, alliance/partnership development, donor engagement and fundraising, strategic planning, and serving as the Foundation spokesperson.

Prior to transitioning to the foundation role in June 2017, Leonard led the development and implementation of CHPA's association integrated marketing communications programs and initiatives for five years. In this role, she provided strategic direction to the association's overall brand strategy through print, digital, and new media platforms elevating awareness about CHPA’s programs and strengthening relationships with external audiences. Prior to joining CHPA, Leonard led the marketing programs for Associated Builders and Contractors and Healthcare Distribution Management Association, both trade associations in the DC/Metro area.

Leonard lives in Arlington, Va., with her husband, Joe, and her son, Owen. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives.
